From haunted prisons to zombie sightings in Spain, the new season dives deep into legends that refuse to die.

Expedition X returns Wednesday, August 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel, kicking off a brand-new season of paranormal investigations led by Josh Gates, Heather Amaro, and scientist Phil Torres. This investigative team is known for heading straight into some of the most terrifying places on Earth.
The two-part premiere sends Gates and Amaro to the haunted remains of Spike Island, once known as Ireland’s most brutal prison. Claims of strange activity inside the crumbling fortress have drawn the team to investigate whether the ghosts of its past still walk its halls. With shadowy figures and unexplained sounds reported by both tourists and former inmates, the crew navigates dark cellblocks and underground tunnels in search of answers.
Later this season, the Expedition X team revisits the house that inspired The Conjuring, explores the mysterious Bridgewater Triangle in Massachusetts, and even looks into stories of soul-stealing zombies on the streets of Spain. They’ll also make a stop in Bangor, Maine, the hometown of horror legend Stephen King, to uncover the real ghost stories that helped shape his nightmares.
