Josh Gates Returns June 18 With All-New Expeditions

Starting Wednesday, June 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Discovery Channel kicks off a packed week of adventure with the season premiere of Expedition Unknown, followed by Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch at 10 p.m. The excitement continues Sunday, June 22 at 11 p.m. with the U.S. debut of Marooned with Ed Stafford. All shows will air on Discovery Channel and be available to stream via Discovery+.

Expedition Unknown Sets Sail Across Continents

Josh Gates is back, and this time he’s crossing five continents in search of answers buried beneath history. In the season opener, Gates heads into the heart of the Mediterranean, chasing rumors of shipwrecks swallowed by what some call Greece’s Bermuda Triangle. He then travels to Turkey to investigate Göbekli Tepe—thought to be the world’s oldest known temple—and finally heads into the Pacific to track down the missing aircraft of a World War II hero.

Related story: Josh Gates investigates a secret Nazi plan built to attack New York City and later in the season travels to Kenya to search for the legend of the Ghost and the Darkness.

Blind Frog Ranch Digs Deeper

Following Expedition Unknown, the new season of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers return to Utah’s Uinta Basin, where Duane and Chad Ollinger are still chasing rumors of Aztec gold. But this time, they might actually be onto something.

Between hidden tunnels, ancient stone markers, and what may be a buried tablet, the team edges closer to uncovering the truth behind the ranch’s reputation. But the land itself continues to fight back—radioactivity, uninvited visitors and whispered government activity suggest this treasure hunt won’t be easy.

Marooned with Ed Stafford Makes U.S. Premiere

Wrapping up the week on Sunday night is Marooned with Ed Stafford, airing at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Stafford, a British survivalist known for his no-frills style, is dropped into some of the world’s harshest environments with no gear—just a camera and his instincts.

Each episode documents his solo survival over ten days, where he builds shelter, finds food and water, and adapts to landscapes ranging from rainforests to deserts. It’s survival stripped down to the core—no crew, no gimmicks, just a man against nature.

If you're into real-life mysteries, ancient history, or the kind of adventure that feels just a little too wild to be true, Discovery’s got a packed week of programming that hits all the right notes.
