Arrivals Starts Netflix’s New Manifest Mystery With a Denver Crash

Netflix announced a new sci-fi series, Arrivals, on Aug. 28.
The new mystery follows Manifest, which completed its run in 2023.
Flight 828 completed its journey, but strange planes are not finished with the Manifest universe. Netflix announced Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, which begins with an unexplained crash landing in Denver. The new story will stream on Netflix with a different group of characters and the original show’s creative team behind it. A premiere date and release time have not been announced.
The mystery begins when passengers emerge from the plane with no memory of who they are, where they came from, or why they have arrived. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent work with them to prevent a catastrophe that could end humanity.
There is another problem hiding inside that mission. The passengers and the people helping them are part of the same puzzle they are trying to solve. That setup gives newcomers a clear place to board while returning viewers get another mystery built around an impossible flight, government questions, and people connected by something they do not yet understand.
Manifest creator Jeff Rake returns as a co-creator, co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, former co-executive producers on Manifest, join him as co-creators and co-showrunners.

“I’m delighted to be able to tell a new story for the Manifest fans out there and also for a brand-new audience,” Rake said. “It’s been five long years since we showed up on Netflix, and there’s probably half a generation who has never heard of Manifest. We’ve tried to thread the needle in a way that’s rewarding for the OG Manifest fans, but also equally rewarding for people who are brand new to the show.”
Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Len Goldstein and Jacqueline Levine are also executive producers. Warner Bros. Television is the studio.
Manifest first ran for three seasons on NBC before Netflix gave the canceled drama a 20-episode fourth and final season. According to Netflix, all four seasons have collected more than 130 million views since early 2023. The final season spent nine weeks on the Global Top 10 English TV list and reached No. 1 in more than 90 countries.
Netflix says Arrivals will introduce a new cast and previously untold storylines. The company has not announced any actors or confirmed whether Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, or other members of the original ensemble will appear.
