Amy Poehler leaves Pawnee City Hall behind for an archaeological adventure in Greece, reuniting with Parks and Recreation executive producer Michael Schur for Dig. The 10-episode comedy series premieres exclusively on Peacock Monday, November 23, with all episodes available to stream at once.
Poehler plays Elise, the lead archaeologist among four women who meet at an excavation in Greece while facing different turning points in their lives. Their summer changes when the group uncovers a rare artifact and a secret with the power to rewrite history. The discovery draws them into an international conspiracy, giving the comedy-drama both a workplace story and a larger mystery.
The series adapts Kate Myers’ 2023 novel, Excavations. Poehler and Schur co-created the television version and wrote the pilot. Myers remains involved as an executive producer, while Schur and J.J. Philbin (The O.C.) serve as co-showrunners.

Hugh Laurie (House) plays Neville, a British archaeology professor. Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers) plays Dylan, Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor) plays Clare, and Fina Strazza (Paper Girls) plays Patty. Guest stars include Kayvan Novak (What We Do in the Shadows) as Stavros, Jon Pointing as Gary, and Bonita Friedericy in an undisclosed role.
Schur and J.J. Philbin serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series. Filming took place in Los Angeles and on location in Greece.
Dig is Poehler and Schur’s first television collaboration since Parks and Recreation ended in 2015.
