After Woody's daughter's wedding falls apart, he and his family head to Matthew's ranch in Austin, Texas, for an extended stay. What begins as a chance to regroup soon becomes something far more complicated when Matthew's mother, Ma Mac, played by Holland Taylor (The Morning Show), reveals a secret suggesting the two men may actually be brothers.

As Woody becomes determined to uncover the truth, Matthew faces a crisis of his own involving a possible run for Governor of Texas. The series combines family comedy with questions about identity, fame, and the stories people tell about themselves.

The cast also includes Natalie Martinez (Bad Monkey), Brittany Ishibashi (Runaways), Nolan Almeida (Fish), Ella Grace Helton (Sweet Magnolias), Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan (The Brothers Son), and Oona Yaffe (Sleepy Hollow).

The comedy is showrun and executive produced by Lee Eisenberg, whose previous television work includes acclaimed comedy and drama projects. Trent O'Donnell directs multiple episodes, including the pilot.
