The streaming service announced that the comedy series has been renewed for a third season, with eight new episodes on the way. The news was revealed by Netflix Head of Scripted Series for the U.S. and Canada, Jinny Howe, during a fireside chat at the BANFF World Media Festival.
The renewal comes as the series continues to build momentum with viewers. After debuting on Netflix's Global Top 10 English TV list in May 2025, The Four Seasons drew 24.4 million views during its first two weeks. Following the release of Season 2 on May 28, 2026, the series reached Netflix's Top 10 rankings in 56 countries and remained on the global chart, helping push Season 1 back into the rankings as well.
Co-creators and co-showrunners Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield celebrated the renewal in a statement: "We are thrilled to be able to bring a third season of The Four Seasons to life. Thank you to everyone who watched. Middle-aged people, LFG!"
The comedy follows a close-knit group of longtime friends whose tradition of vacationing together continues even as life grows more complicated. Season 2 picks up after a difficult year for the group, with Kate (Tina Fey), Jack (Will Forte), Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), and Ginny (Erika Henningsen) traveling from the Jersey Shore and upstate New York to Italy while navigating grief, family changes, and shifting relationships.
Part of the show's appeal is its focus on characters who are rarely at the center of modern television comedies. Instead of workplace antics or dating drama, The Four Seasons finds humor in decades-long friendships, marriages, personal blind spots, and the realities of middle age.
Netflix Vice President of U.S. Comedy Tracey Pakosta said, “It's been a joy watching the chaotic, beautiful journey of these lifelong friends. Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield have a magical way of blending heart and sharp humor, making us feel like part of the inner circle. Audiences have fallen in love with these characters and this legendary cast's electric chemistry. We're thrilled to keep the vacation going for Season 3."
Season 2 also featured guest appearances from Steve Carell (Nick), David Tennant (Gianpiero), Alan Alda (Don), Paula Pell (Jane Annie), and Julia Lester (Lila).
Netflix has not announced a premiere date for Season 3.
