Netflix is sending Untamed to a new national park. The streamer confirmed that Season 2 of the mystery thriller will follow special agent Kyle Turner, played by Eric Bana, to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where he is called to investigate a mysterious death.
The new season will consist of six one hour episodes. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, with Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith serving as showrunners and executive producers alongside Bana and other returning producers.
According to the official logline, Turner’s latest case unfolds in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the volatile, living landscape become an unpredictable force during the investigation. The shift in setting moves Turner away from the familiar backdrop of Yosemite seen in Season 1.

Co showrunners and executive producers Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith spoke to Netflix’s Tudum about the change in location. “We're excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite."
Untamed Season 1 premiered on July 17, 2025 and debuted at number one on the Netflix Global Top 10. The series stayed in the Top 10 for seven weeks and ranked as the third most watched title on Netflix in the second half of 2025, reaching 92.8 million views, according to the company’s engagement report.
Season 2 continues with executive producers Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith, Eric Bana and John Wells. Additional producers include Erin Jontow for John Wells Productions, Todd Black and Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions, and Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment.
A release date and additional casting details for Season 2 have not yet been announced.
