This City Is Ours: A Crime Family Saga is an eight-episode crime drama that premiered on March 5, 2026, on AMC+.
The series follows the turmoil that ignites when notorious gang boss Ronnie, played by Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), steps back from his criminal empire. His withdrawal triggers a violent power struggle between his volatile son Jamie, played by Jack McMullen (Ford v Ferrari), and trusted lieutenant Michael, played by James Nelson-Joyce (A Thousand Blows), who sees an opportunity to claim control.
Michael faces pressure from both sides of the organization as he builds a life with his partner, Diana, played by Hannah Onslow (This Is Going to Hurt). As rivalries erupt and loyalties crumble, the family that controls the city’s cocaine trade spirals toward open war.
The supporting cast includes Laura Aikman (Gavin & Stacey), Kevin Harvey (Treason, Time), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), Mike Noble (The Long Shadow), Bobby Schofield (SAS Rogue Heroes), Darci Shaw (A Thousand Blows), and Stephen Walters (Slow Horses).

The series is created by Stephen Butchard, who serves as lead writer, with Robbie O’Neill writing additional episodes. It is directed by Saul Dibb, John Hayes, and Eshref Reybrouck. Executive producers include Andy Harries, Rebecca Hodgson, and Sian McWilliams for Left Bank Pictures, alongside Stephen Butchard and Saul Dibb. Simon Maloney serves as producer.
This City Is Ours premiered in the United Kingdom on March 23, 2025, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer before its U.S. debut on AMC+. Set in Liverpool, the drama has been renewed for a second season.
Prior to its U.S. release, the series held a 7.8 rating on IMDb. On Rotten Tomatoes, it reported a 91 percent Tomatometer score and a 92 percent audience score. Writing for the Daily Mail, critic Christopher Stevens said, “Sean Bean doesn't need to show his teeth. He exudes such menace in every grizzled glare that any shark would turn tail and swim for its life.”
The series consists of one season and is available to stream exclusively on AMC+.
