Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser premieres August 15, 2025, on Netflix. The three-part documentary takes a deep dive into the behind-the-scenes world of The Biggest Loser, one of reality TV’s most watched and most criticized weight-loss competitions. The series examines what the show got right, what went wrong, and the impact it left behind.

Told through interviews with former contestants, trainers, producers, and health professionals, Fit for TV raises questions about how transformation was framed and whether lasting change was truly supported. It also explores how the experience followed contestants long after filming ended, sometimes in unexpected ways.

Directed by Skye Borgman, known for Girl in the Picture, the docuseries is produced by Boardwalk Pictures, with executive producers Michael Gasparro, Andrew Fried, Jordan Wynn, and Lana Barkin.

At its height, The Biggest Loser drew millions of viewers each week, selling a promise of hope through hard work and discipline. But as conversations around weight, health, and media ethics evolved, the show became a lightning rod for controversy. Its tactics, sustainability, and emotional toll all came under scrutiny. This documentary revisits that era through a critical lens.
