The series is co-created by Zach Baylin (known for King Richard) and Kate Susman. It marks another high-profile collaboration between Bateman and Netflix. In addition to starring, both Bateman and Law serve as executive producers. They are joined by Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodriguez for Aggregate Films, and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment, among others.
Also featured in the ensemble cast are Cleopatra Coleman (Clipped) as Estelle, Amaka Okafor (The Responder) as Roxie, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Slow Horses) as Wes, and Oscar winner Troy Kotsur (CODA) as Joe Mancuso. The series will be directed by Bateman, Laura Linney, Ben Semanoff, and Justin Kurzel. Each director takes on a pair of episodes to shape the show's story.

The setting, a sleek fictional Manhattan nightclub, becomes a pressure cooker for the Friedken brothers' ambitions and regrets. The story plays out as a cautionary tale about loyalty, legacy, and the cost of reinvention. Netflix describes Black Rabbit as a "propulsive thrill ride," but its real tension appears to lie in the emotional push and pull between two men haunted by their past and uncertain about their future.
With Law and Bateman playing off each other in a storyline that swerves between intimacy and volatility, Black Rabbit could land squarely in the sweet spot between prestige TV and binge-worthy drama. Jude Law is also set to play Siegfried Fischbacher opposite Andrew Garfield’s Roy Horn in Wild Things, Apple TV’s upcoming Siegfried & Roy limited series, which begins filming this fall.
