Netflix ended February by announcing two new projects. The first is La Dolce Villa, a romantic comedy film from executive producers Elizabeth Hackett & Hilary Galanoy, and Pulse, the streamer's first medical drama series, from creator Zoe Robyn.

La Dolce Villa follows a successful businessman, Eric, who travels to Italy to stop his daydreaming daughter, Olivia, from blowing her life savings on restoring a crumbling villa she purchased for €1. However, Italy has different plans for him as it delivers on its legendary promise of beauty, magic, and romance.



Directed by Mark Waters, known for his work on Freaky Friday and the upcoming Netflix film Mother of the Bride, the romantic comedy cast currently features Scott Foley from Scandal and Felicity, with Violante Placido of The Transporter and Ghost Rider.


Joining them are Maia Reficco from Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Giuseppe Futia from Backstage: Dietro Le Quinte. Written by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy, known for their work on A Perfect Pairing and Falling Inn Love, and produced by Robyn Snyder, Deborah Evans, and Nicola Rosada.


 
 

Justina Machado For Netflix Procedural Medical Drama Pulse

Pulse follows the high-stakes environment of Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center. As the dedicated staff grapples with life-and-death medical emergencies, the series delves into the personal and professional challenges they face. Meanwhile, a young ER doctor named Dani Simms finds herself unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident amidst the fallout of her own provocative romantic relationship.



Justina Machado, known for her roles in The Horror of Dolores Roach and One Day at a Time, is the first series regular announced for the upcoming medical drama produced by Netflix. Machado will play the role of Natalie Cruz, a brilliant and politically-savvy doctor who oversees administrative duties and medicine as the Chair of Surgery and Emergency Medicine.



Zoe Robyn (The Equalizer) also serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Carlton Cuse (Lost, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke and Key). The procedural series is executive produced by Bradley Gardner, Emma Forman, and Michael Klick. Kate Dennis (The Handmaid’s Tale, New Amsterdam) will serve as Director and Executive Producer on Episodes 101 and 102.
