What to Know
  • Anna Camp hosts HGTV’s renovation competition inside Bihl Manor.
  • The six-episode series premieres Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Bihl Manor is getting more than fresh paint. HGTV will send six designers into the reportedly haunted Fremont, Ohio, mansion for A Very Haunted Renovation, premiering Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Anna Camp (Scream 7), the six-episode competition gives the designers 31 days to restore the neglected house while living inside it, with $50,000 at stake.

The competitors are SK Stokes Kennedy, Patrick Peel, John Ryan, Bershan Shaw, Logan Wright and Diana Vogel. Each episode will test their design choices, creativity, and ability to keep working in a house known for unsettling stories. One or more designers will face elimination as the renovation moves forward.

“Bihl Manor is one of the most haunted homes in America,” said Camp. “Unoccupied, falling apart and on the verge of demolition, no one is brave enough to step foot inside—until now.”

Design expert Michel Smith Boyd will mentor the competitors and help judge their work. Guest judges scheduled for the season include production designer Hannah Beachler, paranormal investigator Jack Osbourne, actor Billy Porter, actress Cassandra Peterson, horror director Eli Roth and actress LuLu Wilson.

The premiere begins with a bedroom challenge that divides the designers into two teams of three. Each group gets four days to create a room inspired by Lizzie and Alvie Bihl, whose spirits are rumored to remain in the sleeping quarters.

Viewers who miss the Tuesday broadcast can stream each episode on HBO Max the following day, beginning Sept. 16. HGTV will also launch the YouTube series Would You Buy This Haunted House? on Sept. 11. Weekly episodes follow psychic Steffi Hill through unusual homes for sale as she looks into their histories and tries to contact what may be inside.

A Very Haunted Renovation is produced by Grandma’s House Entertainment.
