The Brew at the Zoo tradition isn't your average beer-tasting night in The Bronx — but it might be exactly what you're looking for when you search "what to do in New York City." Hosted annually on the historic grounds of the Bronx Zoo, this after-hours, adults-only event returns with more flavor, more fun, and a strangely perfect twist: it all kicks off on June, Friday the 13th.

This year's event adds a few wild new experiences to an already stacked lineup. Guests can expect 100+ drink options — from craft beers and wines to seltzers and non-alcoholic picks. With more than 60 pouring stations and over 20 food trucks, it's shaping up to be a solid spot for food and drink lovers.

But this night's not just about drinking, guests can visit select animal exhibits until 7:30 PM, then roam the Dinosaur Safari — a massive walkthrough featuring more than 60 animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs.

Also happening on the only Friday the 13th of 2025: horror fans in New York City are getting their moment in the moonlight as Shudder celebrates a decade of thrills with events across the city — including a tattoo party in Brooklyn and screenings at Manhattan’s IFC Center. Read about Shudder-10

Brew at the Zoo 2025 will also have brand-new party zones, including a Retro Zone where break dancers move to '80s and '90s throwbacks. And for those celebrating Halfway to Halloween, you’ll be right at home: you can challenge a centuries-old curse at Superstition Lane. Plus, test your aim with inflatable axe throwing, or vibe out in the Backyard Party Zone, complete with swings and photo ops.
