What to Know
  • Hollywood Arts premieres Oct. 15 on Netflix, with Daniella Monet
  • The Victorious spinoff follows Trina Vega as a substitute teacher

Trina Vega never became the star she imagined, but Hollywood Arts is giving her one memorable second act. Daniella Monet (Victorious) returns as the aspiring actor in the new comedy series, premiering Oct. 15 on Netflix.

This time, Trina is back at her former performing arts school as an unqualified substitute teacher whose unusual approach puts her at odds with a new class of students while helping them discover where they belong.

Trina spent much of the original series chasing attention and opportunities that rarely went as planned. Hollywood Arts places her in charge of students who are now pursuing many of the same dreams.

The new cast includes Alyssa Miles (The Queen Bee Strikes Back) as Emmy, Emmy Liu-Wang (Raven’s Home) as Pepper, and Erika Swayze (School Spirits) as Jen Z.

Peyton Jackson (The Woman in the Yard) plays Qwest, while Martin Kamm (Web of Spider-Man) appears as Oscar. Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) will also return for a guest appearance as Principal Helen Duwall, reconnecting the spinoff to the original school and one of its familiar authority figures.

Monet serves as an executive producer alongside Samantha Martin, Jake Farrow, Shauna Phelan and Jonathan Judge. Martin and Farrow, whose credits include Nickelodeon series such as Henry Danger, Danger Force, Victorious and iCarly, are the showrunners and writers.
