A father hears a voice he thought might never return in Last Seen, a new Australian thriller starring Patrick Brammall (Colin from Accounts). The series premieres globally Wednesday, Sept. 9, on Apple TV with two episodes. New episodes will arrive each Wednesday through Oct. 7.

Brammall plays Ian Ridley, a police detective whose young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace 11 years earlier. The loss shattered his life and family, but he has never accepted that she is gone.

Ian now works as a police dispatcher, answering emergencies from a distance rather than responding at the scene. That changes when a teenage girl makes a distress call, and Ian becomes convinced the caller is Maggie. His search quickly turns personal, pushing him to find the girl and repair what remains of his family, regardless of the consequences.

Last Seen is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s award-winning novel The Dispatcher. Writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa (Requiem) adapted the book for television, while Christian Schwochow (The Crown) directs and executive produces.

The five-week release begins with two episodes before shifting to one installment each Wednesday. The series was produced by 60Forty Films and filmed entirely in Victoria, Australia. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Schwochow, Mrksa and Joanna Werner serve as executive producers.
