X-Men '97 Trailer: Marvel Animation Revives Iconic 90s Mutant Heroes for New Adventures

X-Men '97, created by Executive Producer Beau DeMayo, will take viewers into new stories within the 90s timeline of the original X-Men: The Animated Series, continuing the legacy of the beloved show and expanding upon its dramatic stories.

At first glance, it looks as if the new series will continue to build on the nostalgic tone of struggle and perseverance that blended action, drama, and character development. This blend of elements cemented the series and its characters into pop culture history.

After the death of Charles Xavier, the X-Men, led by Cyclops, must come together to uphold his legacy. As fear and prejudice against mutants continue to grow, the team faces numerous challenges both internally and externally.

While navigating complex issues related to mutants, they must also confront personal conflicts. From the trailer, it's clear that Magneto will play a major role and complicate things even further with his own agenda.

Marvel Studios Animation is producing the series, and several cast members from the original series will reprise their roles. The voice cast includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.
