Trigger Point is headed to Netflix, and the streamer is giving it a full series order from day one. The drama series, produced by A24, brings Joel Edgerton into the lead role and is expected to roll out across eight episodes. Netflix confirmed the pickup in a highly competitive situation, signaling its interest in expanding its crime drama slate with a project built around Special Forces intrigue.

The series follows a group of former Tier One Special Forces operators running a private military contracting firm that doubles as cover for their criminal work. At the center of the story is an FBI agent determined to bring them down. With covert operations, shifting loyalties, and a cat-and-mouse setup, the premise gives Netflix another entry in the world of organized crime and federal pursuit.

Edgerton stars as Red, the leader of the crew, marking his latest turn in a grounded, character-driven role. The actor is known for The Gift and The Great Gatsby, and he also leads the Netflix drama Train Dreams. Harrison Query will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, bringing experience from Heads of State and the true crime docuseries Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey.

Joining Query are executive producers Joe Hipps and Patrick Macdonald, whose past work includes House of Cards, Ozark, and Counterpart. Jeremy Saulnier will direct and executive produce the series. His filmmaking style in projects like Green Room and Blue Ruin, both known for their tension and sharp pacing, suggests the show may lean into a grounded sense of pressure as the operators navigate their double lives.

Netflix has not announced a release date yet, but Trigger Point’s combination of a clear premise, a focused cast, and a production team known for tense storytelling places it in familiar territory for fans of crime and thriller television.
