The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns with a two-part Christmas Special, premiering Monday, December 15 at 3 a.m. ET on Acorn TV, with the second half following on Monday, December 22, at the same time. The episodes send antiques dealer Jean White, played by Sally Lindsay, into a dangerous Christmas week situation while visiting the Musée de Sainte Victoire.
This special brings Jean, Dom, Judith, and Jeremy to an exclusive holiday event where Jean is asked to authenticate a rare Ormolu box linked to Marie Antoinette. The night shifts quickly when she opens the piece and finds a live bomb inside.
With only 90 minutes until detonation, the museum locks down, the security guard is found dead, and the group realizes they cannot leave. Their only hope is to solve the coded riddle hidden within the box before the clock runs out.
Series regulars Steve Edge, Sue Holderness, Robin Askwith, Alex Gaumond, Sue Vincent, and Tony Robinson return, keeping the familiar rhythm fans expect from the show. The special also features John Thomson, Kacey Ainsworth, Raji James, and Manjinder Virk in new supporting roles. According to Acorn TV, the story follows Jean through her most urgent challenge, pairing the show’s usual antique expertise with a contained mystery set entirely inside the museum.

The Christmas Special is created by Sally Lindsay, with writing by Lindsay and Sue Vincent. Dermot Boyd directs, with production by Clapperboard and Saffron Cherry Productions and Acorn Media Enterprises serving as distributor outside the UK and Northern Ireland. The special continues the show’s tradition of blending antiques work with whodunnit mystery, placing Jean’s skills at the center of the story.
From the description, this special shapes up to be a cozy mystery with a holiday twist, built around a locked museum, a rare antique, and a countdown that refuses to slow down. Watching Jean and the team navigate each clue should make this Christmas Eve puzzle feel like a classic Madame Blanc caper.
