Wave Hill will host a Meet the Artists program featuring exhibiting artists Melanie Elyse Brewster and Noormah Jamal on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Glyndor Gallery in the Bronx. New York University professor and poet Sonya Posmentier will also participate in the program.
The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m., with conversations about two installations currently featured at Wave Hill.
At 2 p.m., Brewster will discuss her Sunroom project, “A Metaphysical Quest for the Deepest Backbend,” in a conversation with Rachel Raphaela Gugelberger, Wave Hill’s Curator of Visual Arts.
At 3:15 p.m., Jamal will discuss her outdoor installation, “Blooms.” Her presentation will also include a collaborative poetry reading with Posmentier at the installation site.
The program provides an opportunity to hear directly from the exhibiting artists about their work and the projects on display at Wave Hill.
Meet the Artists is free with admission to Wave Hill’s grounds. Registration is not required.
