The teaser trailer for Apple TV's upcoming action thriller shows that sometimes less is more in creating excitement for a TV show.

The Last Frontier, a new 10-episode thriller starring Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), premieres Friday, October 10, on Apple TV+ with a double-episode launch at midnight ET. Set deep in the Alaskan wilderness, the series follows a U.S. marshal whose quiet post turns deadly after a prison transport crash unleashes dozens of dangerous inmates.
Jason Clarke plays Frank Remnick, the only U.S. marshal stationed in a desolate corner of Alaska, where crime is rare and the silence runs deep. But when a plane carrying violent prisoners goes down in the icy wilderness, Frank finds himself in a race against time to protect the town he’s sworn to serve. What begins as a freak accident soon reveals signs of something far more calculated, and Frank is forced to question whether the crash was just the beginning of a larger plot.
The ensemble cast includes Dominic Cooper (The Gold), Haley Bennett (The Magnificent Seven), Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets), Dallas Goldtooth (Reservation Dogs), and Tait Blum (For All Mankind). Rounding out the lineup is Alfre Woodard, an Oscar nominee and multi-Emmy winner, adding even more weight to what looks like a high-stakes drama.

The series is from Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call), who co-created the project and also serve as writers and executive producers. Clarke joins them behind the scenes as executive producer, along with a stacked team that includes Laura Benson, Glenn Kessler, Albert Kim, and director Sam Hargrave (Extraction). New episodes will drop weekly every Friday through December 5.
With icy backdrops, a lone marshal against the odds, and a creeping sense of conspiracy, The Last Frontier might just be the wildest thing to hit Apple TV+ this fall, and not because of the weather.
