Who wasn't tearing up after losing Nick (Steve Carell), hoping maybe there had been a mistake and that he would somehow rejoin his friends? Season 2 of The Four Seasons premieres on Thursday, May 28, 2026, on Netflix. While we may have lost Nick, each of these characters is so well written that it will be interesting to see what happens after that season finale reveal.

Season two synopsis: After a difficult year, our group of friends continues their tradition of vacationing together, now with a baby in tow. The Four Seasons picks back up with the core group: Kate (Tina Fey), Jack (Will Forte), Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), and Ginny (Erika Henningsen). With warmth and wit, personal blind spots surface for the group as they each grieve their late friend and embark on new adventures.

In the last episode, Anne finally accepts the difficult truth about Nick and Ginny's relationship. Kate and Jack's near-death experience on an icy lake may have saved their marriage. At the cabin, everyone sits down to a family dinner and discusses taking a trip in Nick's honor: Montana fly-fishing, which he would have loved, or Iceland to see the northern lights, which he would have hated ("I'm not freezing my ass off to go see God's screensaver.").

According to the trailer and synopsis, in season two, the group will journey from the familiar comforts of the Jersey Shore and upstate New York to the stunning landscapes of Italy. "With warmth and wit, personal blind spots surface for the group as they each grieve their late friend and embark on new adventures." The next chapter also includes a baby: at the end of episode 8, the gang and viewers learn that Ginny is pregnant.

To kick off the new season, episode one will be directed by Colman Domingo. The Four Seasons is written, co-created, and run by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, with Alan Alda and Marissa Bregman attached as producers. Season two directors also include Lang Fisher (207, 208), Tracey Wigfield (204), Shari Springer Berman (205, 206), Tina Fey (202), and Robert Pulcini (203).

When season two premieres, there are some burning questions to watch for: What changes now that there's a baby? How is Danny's health? Are Kate and Jack stable? Will Anne be part of Nick's baby's life, or will she just support Ginny through the pregnancy? Most important of all: Will Anne date again?
