Morgan Spector will trade New York high society for ancient mysteries as the new face of Robert Langdon. Netflix announced Aug. 5 that Spector will lead its currently untitled series based on Dan Brown’s novel ‘The Secret of Secrets.’
The eight-hour adaptation will take Langdon to Prague for another race involving science, spiritual lore and a discovery that could change how humanity understands the mind. A premiere date and time have not been announced.
Spector (The Gilded Age) will play the Harvard professor and symbologist previously portrayed by Tom Hanks in three films. Langdon’s ability to remember visual details and solve complex puzzles once again becomes essential when a scientist disappears along with a groundbreaking manuscript.
Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) will play Katherine Solomon, the missing scientist at the center of the story. Netflix describes Katherine as Langdon’s first serious love interest, adding a more personal complication to a mystery that already places lives and powerful ideas at risk.

The newly announced cast includes Cherry Jones (Succession) as Heide Nagel, Corey Stoll (Billions) as Everett Finch, Rob Delaney (Catastrophe) as Jonas Faukman and Abbey Lee (Black Rabbit) as Sasha Vesna. Netflix has not revealed how the four characters fit into Langdon’s search.
Carlton Cuse (Lost) co-created the series with Brown and will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Emma Forman and Zoe Robyn are also executive producers.
‘The Secret of Secrets,’ published in September 2025, is the sixth Robert Langdon novel. Brown introduced the character in ‘Angels & Demons’ before continuing his story in ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ ‘The Lost Symbol,’ ‘Inferno’ and ‘Origin.’
The new series marks another chance for Langdon on television. Peacock previously adapted ‘The Lost Symbol’ with Ashley Zukerman in the role, but that series ended after one season. Netflix is now betting that an eight-hour format can give Brown’s puzzles, locations and larger ideas more room than a feature film.
