Two strangers cross paths during a citywide hookup holiday, but both may be searching for something more.
A new romantic comedy set in a slightly reimagined New York City is heading to theaters on August 7, 2026, from Universal Pictures. One Night Only stars Academy Award nominee Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) and BAFTA nominee Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts franchise) as two strangers who meet during a citywide night where singles are encouraged to keep things casual. Directed by Will Gluck, the film follows their encounter and the connection that develops as the night unfolds.
Barbaro plays Allie, who is still open to finding a meaningful relationship. Turner plays Owen, recently out of a relationship and uncertain about what comes next.
While the city around them is focused on brief encounters, both appear to be looking for something more. Their night unfolds through a series of near misses, detours, and complications that keep them apart as they move through the city.
The supporting cast includes Maya Hawke (Stranger Things), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), King Princess (Nine Perfect Strangers), Ben Marshall (Saturday Night Live), and Ziwe (Baited with Ziwe), along with Molly Ringwald and LeVar Burton.
Gluck co-wrote the screenplay with Travis Braun and also serves as a producer alongside Jacqueline Monetta.
