Apple TV+ is gearing up for the global debut of Bad Monkey, a new comedy series starring and executive produced by Vince Vaughn. The series, based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel, is helmed by award-winning executive producer Bill Lawrence, known for his work on Ted Lasso and Shrinking.

Bad Monkey follows the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a former Miami police officer turned health inspector in the Florida Keys. Yancy's mundane life takes a turn when he discovers a human arm, leading him on a quest to solve a murder and reclaim his position. The series promises a mix of quirky characters and dark humor, staying true to Hiaasen's distinctive storytelling style.

The 10-episode series will kick off with a double-episode premiere on August 14, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday until October 9, 2024.

The ensemble cast features an impressive lineup, including L. Special guest stars include John Ortiz (Fast & Furious) as Rogelio, Zach Braff (Scrubs), and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut as Caitlin.

Developed by Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions, Bad Monkey marks another collaboration between Bill Lawrence and Apple TV+. This follows the success of Shrinking and the Emmy-nominated hit Ted Lasso, which has become a global phenomenon and earned a record number of Emmy nominations for a freshman comedy series.
