A cash run turns into a fight for survival in this upcoming action comedy from the director of Ride Along.
When a routine armored truck job explodes into chaos, Saturday Night Live alums Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson team up to survive one very long shift. The Pickup is an action-packed comedy premiering on August 6, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Tim Story (Barbershop), the film follows two mismatched armored truck drivers, Russell (Murphy) and Travis (Davidson), who find themselves caught in a heist led by Zoe (Keke Palmer), who's clearly one step ahead.
What starts as a routine cash pickup quickly spirals out of control when Zoe and her crew ambush the truck, revealing plans that go far beyond the money. Travis, still reeling from a one-night stand with Zoe, is stunned to find her leading the operation. As the criminals force them into helping steal $60 million, the duo must navigate danger, clashing personalities, and one very bad day that keeps getting worse.

Alongside Murphy, Davidson, and Palmer, The Pickup also stars Eva Longoria, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Jack Kesy, Andrew Dice Clay, Marshawn Lynch, and Joe "Roman Reigns" Anoa'i. The screenplay, written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, blends sharp humor with high-octane action, while Story’s direction keeps the pace tight and the energy high.
Murphy brings his usual big energy, while Davidson keeps things weird and grounded, and Palmer adds a cool intensity. Together, they set up a buddy comedy where everything spirals out of control—cue the chaos and quick jokes.
