What to Know
Reggie Dinkins returns Nov. 2 at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
Boris Kodjoe plays Monica’s new love interest.
Someone from Monica’s college days is returning to her life, and he looks different from the boy she remembers. Boris Kodjoe joins The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins as her new love interest in Season 2, while Tracy Morgan’s former football star continues trying to rebuild his reputation.
NBC released the official trailer ahead of the comedy’s return Monday, November 2, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern. The new season reunites Morgan’s Reggie with Daniel Radcliffe’s documentarian Arthur Tobin, whose own search for redemption remains tied to Reggie’s comeback.
Kodjoe, whose credits include Station 19, plays Leslie “LP” Pervis. He attended college with Monica, played by Erika Alexander, and Reggie. NBC describes his younger self as a child prodigy. Now an entrepreneur who travels the world, LP enters the story as Monica’s new romantic interest.
Monica also has a new assistant. Saturday Night Live performer Jeremy Culhane plays Max, a member of Gen Z with a master’s degree in marketing. Monica hopes his public relations skills can help Reggie recover some of his former standing.
NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico will appear as himself. The network identified all three additions in its announcement accompanying the trailer.

The returning cast also includes Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way and Jalyn Hall. Reggie’s family remains part of his effort to reclaim his past success, as he and Arthur continue working toward their respective comebacks.
Robert Carlock and Sam Means write and executive produce the series. Tina Fey, Morgan, Eric Gurian and David Miner also serve as executive producers. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio, with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, 3 Arts and Means End Productions producing.
The Season 2 premiere follows St. Denis Medical, which opens its third season at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC the same night. That series returns to its understaffed Oregon hospital, where personal struggles and romantic relationships complicate work in the emergency department.
