The series tracks a troubled detective pursuing a serial killer.
A quiet life is what Liev Schreiber's detective wants in Nocturne. But a serial killer stands in the way. The mystery thriller is scheduled to premiere globally on Friday, October 30, 2026, with two episodes available to stream. Apple TV released the trailer showing co-star Stephen Graham as the imprisoned mastermind who triggers a high-stakes investigation.
The 10-episode series follows Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), a former soldier now working as a Philadelphia homicide detective. Looking to slow down, Jonah moves to a small town in western Pennsylvania. When the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham), he must protect all that he holds dear.
The desperate search for Jurek's last missing victim forces Jonah to send his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz, Joker), undercover to confront Jurek. How far will Jonah go to save a life?
The mystery-thriller roots come from Lars Kepler's bestselling Joona Linna novels The Sandman and Lazarus. Lars Kepler is the pen name of Swedish husband-and-wife writing team Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, who also serve as executive producers.
