MUBI is bringing a fresh wave of acclaimed films to its platform this November, beginning with the exclusive streaming premiere of The History of Sound on November 1. Directed by Oliver Hermanus and starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor, the World War I–set story follows two music students whose shared passion for recording the songs of a nation leads them on a journey through love, memory, and connection. The same day, Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All joins the platform as part of MUBI’s “Internet Boyfriends” collection.
Later this month, Koya Kamura’s debut feature Winter in Sokcho premieres on November 17. Adapted from Elisa Shua Dusapin’s award-winning novel, the film unfolds with quiet emotion as a young woman navigates identity and belonging during a frozen season in the South Korean seaside town of Sokcho. Rounding out the month are Robert Kolodny’s The Featherweight on November 21 and Amanda Kramer’s So Unreal on November 28, adding a vivid mix of sports drama and digital-age reflection to the streaming lineup.
Alongside these premieres, MUBI continues to build on its reputation for thoughtful, artistic programming through special curated collections. The “Music and Desire” series explores the power of sound and intimacy, “Love and Ecstasy” celebrates the boundary-pushing work of filmmaker Gaspar Noé, and “Let’s Eat!: Food and Film” honors cinema’s connection to nourishment and culture. Each collection captures a different kind of emotional appetite, offering something for viewers looking for more than the mainstream.
