Searchlight Pictures has released the new trailer for The Testament of Ann Lee, a historical musical starring Amanda Seyfried. The film opens in theaters on December 25, 2025.
The movie, directed by Mona Fastvold, follows the life of Ann Lee, the 18th century leader who founded the Shaker movement. The trailer highlights the film’s mix of music, history, and spiritual storytelling, bringing Lee’s journey from Manchester, England, to colonial America into focus.
Seyfried leads an ensemble that includes Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Abbott, and Stacy Martin. The film uses original songs by Daniel Blumberg to show how Lee’s teachings on equality, simplicity, and devotion shaped one of America’s most distinctive religious communities.
