A new teaser for 'Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed' highlights a darkly off-balance tone. The series, starring Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Jake Johnson (New Girl), premieres May 20 on Apple TV+ with two episodes, then weekly through July 15. Created by David J. Rosen, the 10-episode half-hour thriller blends dark comedy, with the teaser hinting at a nightmarish edge.


The story follows Paula, a newly divorced mother played by Maslany, who thinks she has witnessed a crime. Simultaneously facing a custody battle and a major life change, her investigation draws her into blackmail, murder, and an expanding mystery. Paula's search for answers threatens her future and family relationships.



The teaser sends an early message about what to expect. It looks chaotic in a good way and seems to aim to balance thriller tropes like 'the killer is in the house' with fast-paced, stress-inducing realism, the relentless pressure of work, family, and social expectations.

Maslany and Johnson lead a cast featuring Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Jessy Hodges (Barry), Jon Michael Hill (Elementary), Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg (Charmed), Nola Wallace (The Strangers: Chapter 2), and Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness).


Produced by Apple Studios, the series features Rosen as writer and executive producer. David Gordon Green (The Righteous Gemstones), known for an unpredictable style, directs and executive produces with Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Bard Dorros, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Elise Henderson.



If the series matches the teaser's tone, a mix of dread, danger, and awkward humor as a "soccer mom" investigates murder amid personal chaos, 'Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed' could be Apple TV's next thriller hit.
