A new season of Discovery Channel’s Expedition X returns Wednesday, January 7, at 9 p.m. ET and PT, bringing Josh Gates back into the field with Heather Amaro and Phil Torres. The series continues the team’s investigations into strange claims, local legends, and unexplained events from around the world.

The season premiere includes a special appearance by Jack Osbourne, who joins the team for a case rooted in Old West history. The new episodes follow the group as they examine reports that blend folklore, eyewitness accounts, and physical evidence.

In the premiere episode, Amaro and Osbourne head to Vulture City, Arizona, a former gold mining town that has been abandoned for decades. The location is known for its violent past and stories that refuse to fade. Their investigation centers on reports of voices, moving objects, and figures seen inside the remaining structures. The team also looks into older legends tied to the land itself, adding another layer to the mystery surrounding the town.

As the season continues, Expedition X moves far beyond the desert. Gates, Amaro, and Torres travel to several international locations, each tied to a specific legend or series of recent reports. The cases range from a cliffside castle in Slovenia linked to dark stories from its past to coastal North Carolina, where locals still talk about the presence of pirate Blackbeard.

Other stops include rural Pennsylvania, where sightings of a large birdlike creature have raised concern, and Spain’s La Mancha region, where residents claim a long-dead fighter still appears near historic windmills. The team also investigates the USS Hornet in San Francisco, a retired aircraft carrier said to remain active in unexpected ways.
