Apple TV is doubling down on its comedy lineup with a fresh half-hour series featuring Elizabeth Banks (The Miniature Wife) in the leading role. Hot on the heels of acclaimed favorites like Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Margo's Got Money Troubles, the streamer is set to kick off production this year on the still-untitled project, created by Liz Heldens (Will Trent) and Matt Ward (Best Medicine).

Banks steps into the role of Heidi, a recently divorced mom determined to reinvent her life and her kids’ with a spirited new beginning. Her plans take a detour when she finds herself entangled in organizing her father's retirement community sex dates, leading her to an odd-couple partnership with his girlfriend's perpetually single son.

The series is produced for Apple TV by 20th Television, with Heldens and Ward serving as showrunners and executive producers. Banks, whose behind-the-scenes credits include Bottoms and Cocaine Bear, will executive produce alongside Max Handelman and Krissy Wall for Brownstone Productions.

Jonathan Krisel (English Teacher) is attached to direct the pilot and will serve as executive producer. Additional executive producers include Quinn Haberman for Selfish Mermaid, and Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.

Casting details and a release date are still under wraps.
