Crap Happens Arrives on Netflix With a Rap Dream and Small-Town Chaos

A new comedy series follows a struggling rapper pulled back home after an unexpected loss.

A new comedy series called Crap Happens is headed to streaming, bringing a mix of music dreams and offbeat family ties to Netflix. The six-episode series premieres February 26, streaming exclusively on Netflix.

According to the series description, the story follows Toni, a would-be rapper whose plans are disrupted after the sudden death of his mother forces him to return to his hometown of Kacken. The series is presented in German, with English subtitles and dubbing options available on Netflix.

The premise follows Toni, played by Anton Schneider, who is also known professionally as Fatoni, a German rapper, songwriter, and actor. According to the series description, Toni has spent 18 years in Berlin trying to break into music without success. When he returns home for his mother’s funeral, his life takes another turn.

He is offered what is described as a major career opportunity, even as he reconnects with a town he once wanted to leave behind. At the same time, he must deal with his younger stepfather Johnny Carrera, a talking baby duck named Tupac, and the town’s unusual residents.

The situation becomes more complicated when Toni learns he has a 13-year-old son, Charly, whom he never knew about. According to the series description, Charly’s sudden arrival adds another layer to Toni’s already crowded return home, pushing him to juggle family responsibilities alongside his long-held ambitions.

Crap Happens was created by brothers Dimitrij Schaad and Alex Schaad. The series is directed by Alex Schaad and Jano Ben Chaabane, with a screenplay credited to Dimitrij Schaad, Alex Schaad, Jano Ben Chaabane, Mats Frey, Gemma Michalski, Isaiah Michalski, and Susann Schadebrodt.

Along with Anton Schneider, the cast includes Sky Arndt, Dimitrij Schaad, Jördis Triebel, Runa Greiner, Sophia Münster, Jana Münster, Marc Hosemann, Sherine Ciara Merai, and Veronica Ferres in a guest role, among others.

The production comes from Warner Bros. International Television Production, with Richard Lamprecht producing and Bernd von Fehrn and Kristina Löbbert serving as executive producers.
