Bridgerton is expanding its world again, with Netflix and Shondaland confirming new cast members for Season 5, now in production in London. The upcoming season will center on Francesca Stirling, played by Hannah Dodd, as she reenters society two years after losing her husband. The story follows her return to the marriage mart and the emotional shift that begins when Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza, comes back to London.
Joining the cast is Tega Alexander (Mobland), who plays Christopher Anderson, a charming Regency-era social butterfly whose confident exterior hides a deeper insecurity. He is the son of Lord Anderson, and his arrival is sure to shake things up in London society.
Veteran stage and screen actor Jacqueline Boatswain (Carnival Row) takes on the role of Helen Stirling, Michaela's mother. Helen is a warm but firm presence who brings both energy and guidance to her daughter's London season, balancing affection with a healthy dose of tough love.
Rounding out the new additions is Gemma Knight Jones (Mobland), who plays Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, an old friend of Michaela's and her confidante. Elizabeth may appear lighthearted on the surface, but she understands the unspoken rules of society better than most.
Season 5 will run for eight episodes and is led by showrunner Jess Brownell, with executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen. The story shifts focus to Francesca's internal struggle as she weighs a practical future against feelings she did not expect to feel again.
Since its debut in 2020, Bridgerton has remained one of Netflix's most consistent global hits. Each season has landed in the platform's Top 10 across dozens of countries, while the prequel Queen Charlotte helped expand the series into a wider cultural presence. The show's reach now extends beyond the screen, with live events, themed experiences, and a growing line of branded products tied to its Regency-era world.
