Jordan Mendoza stars in the quarter-hour live-action comedy mixing absurd humor with horror.
Adult Swim is heading into some strange territory with The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza, a new live-action sketch comedy created by comedian and filmmaker Jordan Mendoza (Dave). The quarter-hour series premieres Sunday, Sept. 13, at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim, following a frightened man through surreal dreamscapes where everyday fears can quickly turn absurd.
Mendoza created the series and serves as its star, director, and executive producer. The premise puts his character inside a shifting collection of nightmares that combine comedy and horror rather than following a traditional sitcom format.
The series also brings several familiar faces into Mendoza’s strange world. Guest performers include Thomas Lennon, Marc Maron, Fred Melamed, Haley Joel Osment, Randall Park, Wanda Sykes, Eva Victor, and Steve Buscemi.

For viewers unfamiliar with Mendoza, his previous credits include Dave, Chad Powers, Overcompensating, Big Mouth and Ziwe. The new Adult Swim project gives him the opportunity to build a series around his own comedy and filmmaking style.
Mendoza responded to news of the premiere with a quote that sounds fittingly different from the standard TV announcement.
“Wowee! I can’t believe this is finally happening,” Mendoza said. “Press release looks great guys, ty. I actually had a dream last night that the show / last few years of my life making it was like a big prank. Which honestly, lol. Cried dis mornin. Anyway, lemme know if you need a real quote from me about how grateful I am to Adult Swim / Cam Tang / Avalon etc. etc. If not just publish the template one you sent me. Love yall <3.”
Avalon produces The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza for Adult Swim. Mendoza, Aaron Brown, David Martin and Jonathan Stern are executive producers, while Jim Fagan and David Machajewski serve as co-executive producers. Emma Ferreira is producer, with original music by Christopher Bear.
