A love that refuses to fade. Secrets that will not stay buried. Songs that generations already know by heart. That is the foundation of Querida: Amor Sin Final, a Juan Gabriel jukebox musical set for Wednesday at 6:30 PM at Pregones/PRTT, 571 Walton Avenue in the Bronx.

The workshop performance is part of a bilingual theater evening presented by Broadway Sin Barreras and Broadway Sin Vergüenza.

Written and directed by Vanessa Verduga, the production transforms the music of Juan Gabriel into a sweeping telenovela shaped through musical theater. The story moves through longing, betrayal, devotion, and resilience as characters confront heartbreak and passion through some of the late singer’s most recognized songs.

Juan Gabriel became one of the most influential figures in Latin music. Known as El Divo de Juárez, he built a 45 year career that blended ranchera, mariachi, and pop ballads. He wrote hundreds of songs, sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and remains the best selling Mexican artist in history.

His catalog includes Amor eterno, Querida, Hasta que te conocí, and Así Fue. Decades after their release, those songs continue to connect audiences across Mexico and the United States.

The cast places that music at the center of the drama. Kiwi Villalobos leads as Cristóbal, alongside Marianne Grossman as Aurelia, Inma Heredia as La Doña, Bella Pacheco Rarick as Valentina, Jon Rodéz as Santiago, and Thomas Vorsteg as Don Fernando.

The ensemble also features Ana Daniela Perez, a seasoned performer skilled in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap, as well as Diana Ponce, who has been part of various productions like Rowan and Beauty and the Beast.

Villalobos said they would like to thank Pedro, Cata, Ana, Pao, and The House of Quiobo for their continuous support and love. Heredia added, “Special thanks to Vanessa, Juliana, Abril, the cast, the creative and technical teams, as well as to our beloved audience for supporting our Telenovela night. From our heart to yours.”

The creative team features choreographer Juliana Padilla, a graduate of the New York Film Academy and an active member of the New York City cabaret scene; stage manager Abril López, whose Off-Broadway credits include Mike & Mind’s Wild Weekend Jam; and veteran music director Eric Smrcka, a New York–based musician with more than three decades of experience and over 80 musical theater productions to his name.

The evening also includes Champagne Tears: The Rich Also Cry. The combined runtime is approximately two hours. Admission is free with a suggested ten dollar donation.

For Bronx audiences following the borough’s growing bilingual theater scene, Querida: Amor Sin Final turns a familiar Latin music legacy into a new stage story unfolding close to home.
