What to Know
  • PLIM PLIM ¡EN VIVO! Two performances on Oct. 11.
  • The show is mainly in Spanish, with selected songs in English.

Plim Plim takes the stage at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, Oct. 11, with two shows for preschool children and their families. PLIM PLIM ¡EN VIVO! starts at 1 and 3 p.m. on the Lehman campus.

The Bronx performances are part of an October U.S. tour with 16 performances in 11 cities across six states. The tour opens Oct. 4 in Englewood, New Jersey. To mark the start of the tour, Plim Plim appeared in Times Square on Thursday evening, Oct. 1, offering gifts to the first 50 people to arrive. “We made it to the USA!” its official Instagram account wrote.

The production invites young theatergoers to participate through singing, movement, and interaction with the hosts.

Fiona and Adri are preparing Plim Plim’s concert when they discover that music, movement, and games are missing. The story follows their efforts to put the concert together, with choreography and colorful stage visuals.

The performances will be presented primarily in Spanish, with selected songs in English. The show is designed especially for preschool children and their families.

Before formal classes, neighborhood children came to learn. Years later, the Bronx Documentary Center looks back at what grew from those early days. Read: From a Shared Dream to Images of Bronx Life: The Bronx Documentary Center at 15.

Created in Argentina by Guillermo Pino and Claudio Pousada, Plim Plim debuted on Disney Junior Latin America in 2011. The educational animated series has since expanded into online videos, music, and live performances.

One of Plim Plim’s YouTube channels has more than 35 million subscribers. Organizers describe the stage production as emphasizing teamwork, healthy habits, and positive values.

Lehman Center’s programming includes youth performances, comedy, Bronx music, and work from other cultures. Executive Director Dante Albertie described the center’s mission in the announcement.

“As a nonprofit performing arts center, everything we do is guided by a commitment to the public good. Our mission is to make exceptional live performance accessible to our community, celebrate the rich cultural traditions of the Bronx.”

Lehman Center is at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West. Performance details and ticket information are available on the center’s pages for the 1 p.m. performance and 3 p.m. performance.
