Netflix is returning to the creative team behind Dead to Me for a new revenge story.
The streamer has ordered All the Rage, a half-hour dark comedy co-created by Liz Feldman and Kelly Hutchinson. The series follows Emma and Eli, longtime friends who reconnect after an extended estrangement and discover a shared purpose in taking down the man responsible for separating them.
Feldman and Hutchinson previously worked together on Netflix’s Dead to Me. Their new series draws some of its inspiration from their own three-decade friendship, although its revenge plot is fictional.
“We’re thrilled to tell this completely made up story about revenge inspired by our very real friendship of 30 years,” Feldman and Hutchinson said in a joint statement. “Thank you to Netflix for being the best partners in the biz and, more importantly, for paying us to finally work through 30 years of neurosis and resentment.”
The creators will executive produce All the Rage alongside Christie Smith. Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum will executive produce through Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Netflix also extended its creative partnership with Feldman, who will continue developing series and films exclusively for the streamer. Her previous Netflix projects include Dead to Me and No Good Deed.
Casting and a release date for All the Rage have not been announced.
