Las Azules: Apple TV+'s Women in Blue A Spanish Crime Drama with All-Hispanic Cast & Crew

Apple TV+ revealed the premiere date and offered a first look at its upcoming Spanish-language crime drama Women in Blue (Las Azules). This ten-episode series, featuring an all-Hispanic cast and crew, will debut globally on July 31, 2024, with the first two episodes available immediately and subsequent episodes released weekly through September 25.

Women in Blue, set in 1970 and inspired by true events, chronicles the journey of four women who challenge the conservative norms of their era by joining Mexico’s first female police force. Initially a publicity stunt to distract the media from a brutal serial killer, the women’s squad soon uncovers the grim reality.
Determined to achieve what no male officer has been able to, the women, led by María (Bárbara Mori), whose determination to catch the killer becomes an obsession, Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), whose father is a renowned cop, Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), a brilliant fingerprint analyst, and Valentina (Natalia Téllez), a young rebel, set up a secret investigation to achieve what no male officer has been able to do and bring the serial killer to justice.
The ensemble cast includes Mori, Amorita Rasgado, Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez, Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappan, and Horacio García Rojas.

The series is created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner Fernando Rovzar (Monarca, Sr. Ávila) and Pablo Aramendi (Tijuana, Los Elegidos).
