Is It Cake? Halloween premieres on October 8, 2025, on Netflix, with host Mikey Day leading a new group of bakers through creepy cake challenges. Nine artists, all skilled in crafting the most convincingly realistic cakes, will compete for a cash prize and the title of Halloween champion. This special season leans into tricks and treats, once again posing the deliciously confusing question: Is It Cake?
The lineup of bakers includes Andrea Ortiz Fuentes, Annabel De Vetten, Brad Lamb, Breon Roundtree, Paul Bosley, Ronique Briggs, Regina Walker, Sonny Robinson, and Vanessa Barcelo. Each contestant will try to fool celebrity judges with cakes so realistic they could pass for Halloween props.
The judges list spans comedy and television favorites, from Chelsea Peretti and Melissa Joan Hart to Harvey Guillén, Jack McBrayer, Kevin Nealon, Pete Holmes, and Yvonne Orji, among others.

Produced by Alfred Street Industries, the holiday edition carries the same offbeat spirit that made the show a surprise hit. Executive producers Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, Andrew Wallace, and Cat Sullivan return behind the scenes. The format remains simple but addictive: bakers present cakes disguised as everyday objects, and judges must guess what’s real and what’s dessert.

The Halloween setting raises the stakes. From haunted decorations to ghoulish costumes, each challenge blends seasonal fun with the artistry of cake design. “It’s not just about baking,” Day explained in the announcement. “It’s about creating illusions that surprise even when you know a cake might be coming.”
Since its debut in 2022, Is It Cake? has thrived as part competition, part comedy, and part optical illusion. This spooky edition arrives just in time for Halloween parties and cozy nights in, offering another reason for families and fans to gather around Netflix.
If the regular series left you second-guessing your dinner plate, the Halloween version promises to make you question every pumpkin and skull you see on screen. After all, on this show, the scariest trick is biting into plastic when you should have tasted chocolate.
