Bronx legends Gabriel "Kwikstep" Dionisio and Ana "Rokafella" Garcia helped build the foundation for today's street dance scene. On Saturday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m., the husband-and-wife team bring their company Full Circle Souljahs back to the Hostos Repertory Theater for '25 And Still Gettin' Live,' a reunion that celebrates their Bronx roots and the lasting legacy of the hip-hop movement.

"This event represents our commitment to being a home base for Full Circle Souljahs and Rokafella and Kwikstep," said Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture's Director, Manager Felix Arocho. "To support these wonderful dancers and choreographers by providing them with a space to create and present their world-class artistry to the college community, our audiences, and the public at large."

Known for blending art, rhythm, and activism, Full Circle Souljahs shaped the language of hip-hop dance through classic styles like Lockin, Poppin, Breakin, Rockin, and Salsa. The upcoming show promises a "retro-future" energy that honors the Bronx roots of hip-hop while spotlighting the creativity that keeps it alive.

The performance includes Thief of Hearts, returning to the Hostos stage by popular demand after its successful premiere last year. Original cast members will reunite for an on-stage celebration that ends in a live-band jam session. For longtime fans, it's a rare chance to see the evolution of a crew that helped define hip-hop theater before it had a name.

Kwikstep, who began dancing as a kid inspired by Soul Train and Bronx block parties, went on to perform on PBS's Everybody Dance Now and in the Emmy-nominated September Songs. Rokafella, named by Latina Magazine as "one of the most iconic b-girls in hip-hop history," has spent decades representing women in street and club dance. Her documentary All the Ladies Say and her stage work Beauty Meets Beast continue that mission.

"Hip-hop brings redemption to me in a way that nothing else does," Rokafella explains on the group's website.

"I hope the audience feels that this is their home for culture and the arts — a space where everyone is welcome, valued, and inspired," said Arocho. "We want them to leave feeling connected, celebrated, and reminded that the arts belong to all of us."

Presented by the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture, the event is part of the center's year-round commitment to showcasing Latino and African-based arts. Recognized by The New York Times as "a powerful locus of Latino art," Hostos remains a vital cultural hub for Bronx audiences and visiting artists alike.
