For many TV viewers, like myself, the Disney+ miniseries Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, was a first-time introduction to the character Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, a deaf, highly skilled assassin, portrayed by Alaqua Cox. Hawkeye premiered on November 24, 2021, and now, as part of Phase Five in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the spin-off series, Echo, focused on Cox's character, is set to release on January 10, 2024.

And for the first time, Marvel Studios is releasing all the episodes of its new series at once, which will stream on Disney+ and Hulu (available on Hulu until April 9). The five-episode streaming event follows Maya Lopez (Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s (D’Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her family and legacy.
