It's a new chapter of horror that turns even darker when family becomes the target.

When The Black Phone first premiered, fans were caught off guard by just how much they loved it. It felt like something original — a psychological thriller with a supernatural twist. Now Ethan Hawke returns as the Grabber in The Black Phone 2, which is set to hit theaters on October 17, 2025. Produced by Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, the sequel will stream on Peacock following its theatrical run.

Official Synopsis

As Finney, now 17, struggles to adjust after surviving the Grabber’s captivity, his younger sister Gwen begins having vivid dreams again — this time with calls from the black phone and chilling visions of three boys being stalked at a snowbound camp called Alpine Lake.

Determined to stop the nightmares and protect her brother, Gwen convinces Finney to visit the camp during a looming winter storm. What starts as a search for answers quickly turns personal, as Gwen uncovers a disturbing link between the Grabber's past and their own family. Together, the siblings must face a killer who may be more dangerous in death than he ever was in life.

Scott Derrickson is back in the director's chair, with production handled by horror powerhouse Blumhouse. The cast also includes Demián Bichir, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies, and Arianna Rivas. Fans of the film will recognize the same slow-burning dread, but this time, the stakes are even more personal and the enemy more dangerous.

The film is expected to hit theaters ahead of its streaming debut on Peacock. The trailer teases an icy backdrop, eerie visions, and the return of that unmistakable ringing sound — signaling evil is never really gone, just waiting to be answered.
