Apple's New Rom-Drama 'Fingernails' Sets Theatrical and Global Premiere Dates

What would it be like to have certainty that you are in the right relationship? Moviegoers will be the first to find out the answer to that question when Apple Original Films' new Toronto International Film Festival selection 'Fingernails' premieres in Los Angeles and New York theaters on Friday, October 27th, 2023. But do not despair fellow TV Viewers because this romantic drama will also debut globally on Apple TV+, and in additional select theaters on Friday, November 3, 2023.

Directed by Greek director Christos Nikou (Apples), the story follows Anna and Ryan, who find true love using a controversial new technology that works by using fingernails from its clients. And now Anna and Ryan have achieved every couple’s dream: they possess the documents that certify their true love.

There’s just one problem: Anna still isn’t sure. They are living an uneventful life when Anna takes a position at the love testing institute and meets Amir. As Anna observes her new colleague improving client connections, she starts pondering whether Amir could be her soulmate and if relying on her own emotions is a more dependable measure than that determined by a machine.

Fingernails is the second feature and first English-language film from director, writer, and producer Christos Nikou, who was celebrated for his 2020 directorial debut film 'Apples.' It stars Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Allen White, and Luke Wilson. Fingernails is co-written by Nikou, Stavros Raptis, and Sam Steiner. In addition to Nikou, Fingernails is produced by Cate Blanchett, Andrew Upton, Coco Francini for Dirty Films, and Lucas Wiesendanger for FilmNation Entertainment.
